Running Injuries

Nice informative diagram šŸ“ What do all these injuries have in common (besides being common injuries themselves šŸ™ˆ)? ...That they can all be caused by sudden overuse! . We see these injuries most often in the weekend warrior or the otherwise sedentary person who suddenly begins running miles a day. Running has great cardiovascular benefits ā™„ļø, but if our tendons and ligaments aren't used to the loading and repetitive weight bearing, overuse injury will result. The key šŸ”‘ to prevention here is to begin and progress gradually šŸ“ˆ. . We can avoid exceeding our tendons' capabilities for loading through gradual progression and also through listening šŸ‘‚ to our bodies. Muscle soreness may be no cause for alarm, but joint pain should not be ignored. (Side note: I personally prefer biking šŸš“šŸš“ for my cardio - easier on the knees!)
